Today we're off! He escapes from the four walls for a day out. The excuse is a wonderful excursion organized kindergarten children who attend the plagues of Friends & Friends, with lunch on a farm. What better time to enjoy the fresh air, and sunny day really outside the usual routine!
8.00 am in the morning meeting at the station. I welcome lively and noisy horde of kids and parents excited about this adventure that awaits us. To get there on time the alarm rings at 6.30, I have to make myself presentable, feed, change, dress the baby (4 months), preparing breakfast, an antibiotic, aerosols, urinating, washing, dressing my "fellow trip" (3 years) .
All aboard! Now it's our train What a joy to observe the eyes of my small little man full of emotion. To say nothing of myself, totally forgetting that the malaise that causes any moving object and plunges in an animated discussion with the Friend sitting in front of us. Both of our kids are more excited. How many things we have to tell us! Exceptionally today "Friends & Friends" is moving!
In half an hour we arrived, I grab the phone to alert the rest of the family that we have arrived: there is no pitch! Virtually isolated from the world ... me and Friend we look in the eye: WONDERFUL! We leave the station, turn the corner and open the gates of the farm. What a nice, rustic and green.
The children begin to lash out, adults are a foretaste of the goodies that will elevate their palates. In fact, here comes the first tray, taken literally assault as soon as they touch the table. Homemade bread served with simplicity and for this a special delicacy. But how many slices I eat it?! After all, tell me what could be more of a good slice of warm bread with a little oil on it?! The scent is intoxicating that releases the oil anoints my hands and I feel happy as a child.
Hooray, the tomato, cut into small little pieces! In this way, and bit into the toast I'm not losing the dressing on the street. Summer is over, but the sughino tomato bread that soaks me back to the sensations and flavors that only gives me this time of year. Friend to ask his opinion on olive sauce that seasons the other coarse bruschetta, very tasty to me, but I immediately avoidance as well as little bites me in the heat of his tremendous appetite.
bushes of lavender, the pergola, sturdy wooden tables and wicker chairs, a perfect backdrop to this natural food that puts me at peace with the world, along with "sfincionello" to Palermo who have just baked. There are comments that describe the softness of the pasta, the sauce that blends scioglievolezza oil and is complemented by the sweetness of the onion. I just say that my friend, Miss Sartorialist so to speak, he swallows a dozen pieces.
Everything is genuine, natural and full of flavor. Simple and family. The ingredients blend nicely. In particular I am struck by the crispness of the pesto sauce that goes with the softness of the zucchini (all enhanced by the fresh mint) of my rope moldings.
Under the leaves of black locust tree or sitting on the trunk of an old pine tree, we store the smells, images, feelings that day like this "bucolic" is giving us. Engraved in the memory, we treasure these hours in total freedom, away from all that is our daily life. In the end, terribly tired but happy, back on the train: home sweet home.
